***GLOBAL Super8 Day 8.1.2000***

I knew already in advance that this would be a busy saturday for me.
this is the complete program of the S8 special at the neues kino in Basel on 8th of january as it was shown:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
flo olloz and me put up some S8-loops.

here's some more photos:
I would like to thank everyone very much who has contributed to the super8-special 2000 at neues kino!
I had to fetch our visitors from torino (it) from the railway station.
besides I had to transport the rest of the equipment essential for a good show to "neues kino" (viewers, cutters, reels etc. etc.).
luckily the films were already waiting in the projection booth ready to be projected. I had prepared that the night before.
another important thing to do was writing and copying the program
which i hadn't finished until this last minute to be prepared for last minute changes.
the busy day went by quickly and i found myself standing in the projection booth at 7 pm getting more and more nervous,
because visitors already started to drop in and there were still so many things to be done.
paolo tested his own projector for a special projection and some folks were still checking out the tape-film-synchronisation.
at 7.45 the place was full, and when I say full I mean 120 people on 100 seats and outside there were many more waiting.
everyone was in a great mood and looking forward to see a great show of independent and non-professional filmmaking.
probably everyone at least knew someone who had contributed a film.
some additional films were brought for a projection after the official program (which was to last more than 3.5 hours!).

the projection went very smooth.
no ripped or burned film and not to many breaks and accidents even though I constantly
had to switch the sound between cd, tape, md and magnetic sound.
a tough job, but great fun anyway.
the only drawback to me is that I couldn't watch these great works in peace.
some of them I still havn't really seen because I had to prepare something else while they ran through.
anyway, the watchers had good fun and every single seat was occupied from the first to the last film.
some people went home after a while but the seats were quickly filled by the ones who didn't get in for the first part.
after the program i showed the roughly eight additional films which were brought in spontaniously.
each and every film was greatly enjoied and estimated for its characteristics.

lots of bikes=lots of good people ***** those who couldn't get in

discussing important topics ***** friends from torino (it)

action in the projectionbooth ***** after the first part

getting something to drink ***** the show could also be watched via a monitor in the entrance hall

after the show
